Hi

I will be upgrading my pc to either a 3570k or 3770k

I mainly game but I also fold 24/7 as well

I am aware that HT for gaming is not much difference, however I am interested in how much more the extra 4 threads will be in crunching? I use WCG only and swap the projects there. (I GPU for seti and milkway sometimes too)

The price difference between the two I view as one of my 'donations to charity' if i can crunch a bit more on it.

with ht on i find gains can be as much as 30% in folding points.

30% sounds like quite a good chunk extra over the year.

Also the client can't tell if its cores or threads so counts them the same, this can be good if higher earning WU's are released that only run on XX number of cores/threads. As long as you can hit the target time.
