The .htaccess is wrong....or something. I think you're going to have to provide more detail.
I assume you're moving the whole site and thus have imported the old database in to the new. In which case the most likely thing to forget would be to update wp-config.php.
In addition you'll probably need to login to the backend and change the settings in Settings/General to point to the new site.
If you've got pretty permalinks going then you could do worse than flicking them between say numeric and what they're on at the moment to force them to be updated.
For obvious reasons don't run any caching plugin for the moment.
