HTC Desire email query?

Hi,

I have had my Desire for around 2 months now but I am having an issue with my Virgin email account.

My Desire picks up on average 6 emails throughout the day but when I get home and check my email on the PC have about 20 emails, why doesn't the Desire receive them all?

Have I set anything up wrong or is this a common problem?

Yes I do.

Today it picked up 5 emails & now I am home checked on my PC got 29 new :mad:

Are you using POP or IMAP?

There is your problem then, one of your mail clients must be removing the mails from your server so they are no longer there when the phone tries to POP your mailbox, this is a common default setting on POP3 clients. Use IMAP, it's much better and your mail will stay on the server. Virgin Media's IMAP server is imap.virginmedia.com.

Recently noticed I cannot send emails, Is there any specific settings that I might have wrong?

Virgin's email is powered by Gmail. Can't you just add it as a Google account under Settings>Accounts & Sync?
