HTC Desire Smashed Screen

Hi my wife smashed her screen on her HTC Deisre, touch still works but the glass is smashed. Can these be replaced? I've looked on the auction site but there's so many different screens etc.

Has anyone done this before?

Sorry I'm of no help, but how did she do that?
I've had mine 15 months and its been dropped a lot yet no screen marks or scratches

Dropped on to a concrete path, quite a rough one screen down, I was very surprised myslef to be honest!

My daughter had hers for only a week before she dropped it and cracked the glass, it wasn't insured, I rang HTC and they were very helpful, they told me to send it to them and they would give me a quote for a new glass, it cost me £120 and i had it back within a week, hope that helps

I had dropped mine at least 20 times on various hard surfaces and never had more than a couple of light scratches on the case. Then last wednesday I dropped it my front doorstep and the screen smashed

I had insurance.

I've never replaced the screen on a Desire but I have on many other mobile phones and it's not difficult, usually only being a case of undoing a dozen screws and a ribbon. They sell the screens on eBay as you've seen and there are plenty of video tutorials on Youtube.

i'll echo other thoughts, and say replace it yourself. It isnt too difficult, and as long as you are careful with what you are doing, shouldnt have too many problems. And, there will be quite a few guides on how to do this online
