**HTC HD2 Thread**

Ohh actually - what ROM version is yours? I hear the "over sensitive" keyboard has been toned down a bit in the latest official HTC ROM...

I updated to 1.48. There's also a mod on my website that reduces the sensitivity anyway, but I'm fine with the keyboard as it is and don't need it. You can also edit the MinimumTapTime in the registry to prevent pressing something by just skimming over it.

Right, just bit the bullet and ordered it from mobiles.co.uk on Vodafone.

I better subscribe to this thread cos I'm bound to keep coming back.

Been eying up one of these at work.

Got to give my Bold 2 back since I'm leaving Vodafone, and with my iPhone also on its way back to O2, I'm in essence going to be phoneless in the coming weeks.

Had a play with them, they look absolutely fantastic - although I am worried that its WinMo, and I fear it wont live up to expectations as a media device since I've been spoilt with how easily the iPhone does things.

Argh, decisions decisions.

cos the internet says it's bad? :p

I think having looked at those pretty screenshots from your phone I might just have to grab one of these :)

Anything will be a step up from the POS that is my w910i :)

I'm posting an image of me posting this image on my phone. Don't blame me if the universe implodes!

I've been using winmob phones as PMPs for years, never had any problems with it.

Watching tv shows/movies on hi-res screens makes the iPhone look terrible, and I'd rather have nice looking videos over a flashy interface. But then I'm the function over form sort of person.

Also, these are not likely to be branded, as HTC are now trying to market themselves as a manufacturer, rather than the old days of XDAs/MDAs/SPVs rebranding.

I have just seen this phone available on Vodafone pay as you go, I need to use my Orange sim in the phone so is it possible to unlock the phone? Do Vodafone allow you to do this instantly?

I know a couple of people received their phones unlocked out the box. I can't test mine as I don't have another working SIM.

It was on the website mobilephonesdirect for £474.98 inc delivery. But if its going to cost £20 to unlock I might as well buy it sim free else where.

Couple more questions for Russ or anyone else thats got the phone. What is call quality like, most reviews i've read said its fine, but have seen one that said they had static in the speaker and the quality wasn't brilliant. As a couple of others have asked does it have the 3 sec delay when ringing, and finally have you tried playing a video back at full quality, as i saw a vid on youtube where it slowed the phone down a lot and the audio/video was out of sync.

My dad just got one of these...rung me up to rave about it...said its pretty fast and decent..much better than previous Winmo devices. Saying that hes been a winmo user for quite some time so i guess its a natural progression in terms of phones...tried getting him to go blackberry but he wouldnt have any of it:p.

Ill probably have a play with it next week when i see him.
