Hi guys, I'm here to have a discussion with you about my M8 and if is possible to clean up my phone a bit. What I want to do is factor reset my phone and then copy whole OS to my PC so I can deleted all the pre installed crap. I was considering a custom rom but I cant find any that will include all the features I have now. Can any one help me out? Looking forward to have a nice discussion.

Thank you for reply but I'm not looking for custom rom what I'm looking for is a way to copy original rom and fix it trim it down and customise it by myself.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. In order to trim it down you'll need to root and uninstall the preloaded apps like that. And if you remove the wrong app, you may end up bricking the phone.

Android Revolution HD however is a more optimised (no uneeded apps, tweaked coding for better performance/battery) version of the stock Sense ROM, I would consider using that if you want something cleaner: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694917

That's the problem as those ROMS still have a lot of staff I don't want to have anything to do with(facebook, twiter, all HTC apps, a lot of Google apps).

On other note can Sense ROM be modified? custom theme only visual changes?

Most Sense apps rely on the Sense modifications built directly into the ROM, and vice versa. You will need to learn how a ROM works to know what to remove, and how to keep the ROM stable if it does depend on that app/feature.

Sounds like you just want Google's version Android. You'll be wanting this then: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708589

This will convert your M8 to the Google Play edition, no HTC Sense, HTC apps, etc. There will be some Google apps but sadly they're required as part of the agreement to allow Play store access. Only way around this is rooting.

I would love to learn about this please post some links if you have. As for nexus version I'm trying to avoid it as I like HTC version of it. I want only to fix it a bit not to complete redo it.
