HTC One X, downgrading to upgrade

I'm thinking of selling my HTC One X, because the signal reception on it is terrible, where I got constant HSDPA with my HTC Sensation, I just get either 3G, G or E and web pages won't load due to this.

So if I sold my HTC One X, unsure how much I could possibly get for it, what would be my options?

Get a cheapo phone and buy a tablet?
Get a Windows Phone?
Any phones cheaper than the One X and just as good?

I'm looking for a phone with just as good camera as the One X or better, and a screen that has comparable quality.

Thanks.

Expensive Windows phones I'd avoid at the moment. The Lumia 800 is still a great phone (as long as you don't particularly need a truckload of apps for everything in your life) but with W8 around the corner you'd be kicking yourself. The 900 is equally a good phone but 800*480 on a 4.3" screen is too low, and that will be a noticeably more expensive buy.

What might be worth considering is the Lumia 710. The camera won't match up to the OneX but it's only £100 on PAYG for most carriers and will serve as a nice stop gap, and WP7 feels more responsive (personal opinion) than anything less than a quad core Jelly Bean android device, and as far as I know only the Nexus 7 falls under that category.

If you're looking at going along with Android you might want to stump up for a GS3, I'd be surprised if anything dramatically tops it in the October bunch of phones; it's only really Apple and Microsoft due for a big refresh in that period.

I would suggest the one S, but the screen is a downgrade and you will probably encounter the same problems with signal so :p Your only option is the GS 3, more expensive but it is your only other option really in order to keep and excellent screen and camera.

The GN and GS 2 are your best bet for cheaper phones but the camera on the GN is no where as good as the X etc. and the GS 2 also falls a bit short in this area against the X etc. and the screens aren't as good as the X and GS 3 either (the GN screen is 720P but the colours/contrast look better on the X and GS 3)

Sony are due to announce a release date for the Xperia XT / 'Hyabusa' towards the end of the month (29th?) which has a 13mp camera, so might be worth hanging on for.

Screen's a bit smaller than the One X though, so the GS3 might be your best option if you're in a hurry as others have suggested.

I think we'll see a range of pure Google phones from different manufacturers, so there might be something worth grabbing then. That said, I'd recommend the GS3 right now, but it's not going to be cheap.

No, I'm on Talkmobile, I had to go 24 months, £24 a month, 1000 texts, 600 minutes, unlimited internet, it seemed a good deal at the time (June)

They use the Vodaphone network.

Does anyone know if I have any problems with Talkmobile if I can just go to my nearest Carphone Warehouse store since as far as I can tell it's all dealt via them, I even have to log into Carphone Warehouse site to check my bill.

I got my contract for the unlimited internet, I probably could have got a better contract, as it's impossible to use near 1GB when the internet never works properly.
