Hey,
I received my HTC Desire Z today. Playing around with it, I wanted to check out HTC senses website, and the options that it has for downloading apps to your phone remotely, sending texts from your PC and much more.

So, I expected to see something like what I see all over google images like this:

sense1.png

But instead I see:

sense2.png

The difference being, that all I have is an option to ring or lock my phone. nothing fancy, the map isn't even right. My mobile number ( blocked out in the pic ) is right, but thats about it. No HTC hub, nothing sending of SMS from my PC.

Any ideas?
Thanks

It doesn't work for me either (DHD).

I played around with deleting and re-installing accounts, reinstalled the locations app, disabling and re-enabling locations and synching the phone too. No change.

Very frustrating TBH.

Well the phone is at 0'0 0'0 so that sorta indicates GPS isn't being sent back along with all the other issues. Did you contact HTC about it?

There's a post in the DHD thread about this and a fix for it. I'm not sure it will apply to the DZ but can't hurt right? HTC I believe are aware but haven't released an update yet.

No, I can't remember where in the thread the link is, sorry, but it's there.

Mine looked like this initially but seemed to sort itself out by the next time I logged in and had used GPS and associated GPS apps a few times.

This sounds really promising, any idea which DHD thread it is though? Would be really helpful and i'd much appreciate it.

I'm still seeing the same problem :(.

Thanks,
Steve

Mine seems to work fine - looks exactly as HTC seemingly intended for it to look.

Only thing mine doesn't seem to have is the number of contacts on the People tab at the top.

Must be pot luck whether it works or doesn't (as in if you have the bug HTC "know" about) as the map etc all work fine after refreshing once upon opening the web page ...

aaah that's so not fair!
Hmmmmmm.
So, I bought my phone from ebay but it was new, boxed and seemingly unopened, could this be the issue?
This is really starting to bother me as I'd love to have some of these features.

I notice if I change the update schedule to anything other than "as items change(push)" it says "Dashboard items may be unavailable with this item".

I have changed that back to default though.
I've also just tried signing up with my work google app account to see if that works. I'll let you know if I have any luck. Thanks for the help by the way!

I find htc sense a bit of a let down really. my location always shows as being in the sea off africa. sending messages online take hours to get back down to my phone for them to actually be sent.

This is where i miss the slick and easy nokia suite i had with my e71, messaging on that was a breeze. htc need to fix messaging or release a offline program for usb connection to phone for messaging.

I had these issues when i first got mine, sorted it all now though. Remote lock and everything else works too.

I deleted my HTC Sense account which was tied to my gmail.com account, then recreated it on the website using the same email, but @googlemail.com as i'd read a couple of things that said it can cause problems.

Deleting locations from your phone and redownloading maps etc and then it finally started working. Never did narrow it down exactly as to what fixed it all though :(
