Hi all
So after testing the vive at the OC showroom on Saturday Iv pre ordered one!!

So now i need power the thing!
I'm looking at this ready built system https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tita...-nvidia-geforce-gtx-980ti-6gb5-fs-002-og.html

But upping the cpu to i7-6700k and 16gb or ram

Now the Gfx card options!!!!

Ocuk 980ti superclocked reference x1
Ocuk 980ti superclocked reference x2 SLi
Asus Titan X

Who does VR handle Sli??? What would you guys go for??

Cheers Golden

I'd personally just go for the 980Ti x1, won't bother with SLI as 1 card more than meets the capability required for VR at the moment, and SLI isn't even officially supported, so makes little difference.

The 980ti is looking like the best option and it's a pretty awesome price ATm in that bundle Iv linked!! I'm only hesitating as in the demo room at The showroom the deep blue demo did stutter slightly and that rig was running the 980ti Ocuk clocked reference card!! And I plan on running mine mainly with elite dangerous, star Citizen, assetto corsa, project cars. All on max res I hope!!

I considered going Sli as I was reading about some new nvidea software that will run a card for each eye nvidea VR works I think it was but I have no experiance with Sli

Get a 970 now to tide you over and then drop cash on Pascal later in the year.
Some of the leaked Pascal specs stuff we've seen could put it at double the performance of a 980ti for whatever the equivalent card is.

My choice is get a decent cheap 2nd hard card now (R9 290 or above) or if you need new then get a 390... and live with the limitations of the current generation of cards.

Then splurge cash in a few months when the next gen of cards come out and are established.

Probably the best overall thing you can do is go for a single 980Ti now, then sell it on in a few months to get either AMD or Nvidias new top card.

This allows you to get the best VR experience immediately at launch, and then upgrade to the newer cards with VR optimisations immediately too. A win-win.

As others mentioned, SLI and Xfire do not work in VR and never will. Both sides are working on a specific VR version of SLI and Xfire that work completely differently, and you can bet they'll optimise mostly for their new silicon this year.

Also the Titan X is no faster than the 980Ti in gaming. Just a complete waste of money (for gaming).

Thread title was best graphics card which is 980Ti. :)

Nano and Fury are great choices but they are not the best which is what the OP asked. :)

Best is all relative. For me the best is the best VALUE for money or performance per pound and that's the Nano;) I'm no 980Ti hater as I have both the Nano and 980Ti, but having both if I were to choose one now I would go with the Nano at the current price point compared to the 980Ti.

I played on a Vive at the weekend running on an i5 2500k and a GTX 970 and the whole experience was flawless. So a single 980ti will be more than capable.

As above the devs are aiming for 970 alike performance to achieve the 90fps and further up the max res is I believe 1440p as that's what is rendered within the engine and then its drawn at the 1080x1200 per eye. I think that's correct from one of the dev videos but there's also a lot of miss info out too of course.

Not going to argue about the 980 Ti though as I have one and I can't wait!

Currently my GTX 670 + i5 3570K scrapes in at the bottom and the 980 Ti + i7 5820K is flatlined at 11 in the Steam VR benchmark.

Whatever you have, if it's 970/390 or more powerful, believe me the Vive will literally leave you amazed.

When I tried one at Curry's last weekend, I thought to myself that this moment is like when you first played Doom with its 3D environments or when HDTV's came out. You could just tell straight away that VR is here to stay and it will bring experiences like never before.
