Alright Guys, Ive been doing some research as i need a sim only phone and the Htc desire and Wildfire are both suitable on my contract,
Desire looks to much money,
So has anyone got the Wildfire??, Any good? Tips?

Cheers Guys
(This is my first thread so it probably isnt what you pro forum users are used too :P)

Screen just isn't good enough, which is a massive shame as the phone is really quite good. Actually, I'll qualify that. It's passable now, in 12-18m it will be simply dreadful. The res just isn't good enough, sooooo frustrating. My better half bought an iphone4 a few weeks back and had been very interested in the Wildfire, but comparing to things like the Galaxy S, even the N8 and even my N900, it was woeful-looking.

Wildfire is alright but for the money you'd be better off getting an Orange SanFran and unlocking it.

+1

How much can you spend? (It's also worth nothing: the old 1st gen iPhone and 3G are frustratingly slow by modern standards for web browsing/apps, even compared to the £99 SF)

If you haven't used something like the desire or iphone then the wildfire seems okay. If you have you'll find it sluggish with a crap screen.

I have a wildfire, my partner has a Orange SA and although the screen is better on the SA I wouldn't swap it. The SA has a shocking battery life compared to my wildfire that gets 3 times the usage.

think your better off looking else ware althrough the wildfire is a perfectly capable smartphone...

I ve got a LG GT540, now when I first got it it was dead within 24 hours...now this is its 3rd day with no charge.

plus its unlocked, also I think its upgradable to 2.1

saying that I did spot a wildfire on pay and go vodaphone for £120 O_O

from the place that starts with a A ( not named after a rain forest ethoir)

Do note my main smartphone is a Legand which needs a charge every 36 hours but I do use it a lot

Guys

After some advice, my cousin did a software update on her wildfire and now can't see any of her app's? Any idea's?

Thanks

The Wildfires a great little phone only downside is the screen but its not that bad.
£130 unlocked from one of those phone for you places :D
I use an SF as a back up phone and the battery life is horrendous also as a music player its way too quiet goes nowhere loud enough. It can be unlocked for free tho.

for the money, the wildfire is a great phone.

i've had mine since june and really like it. the screen does let it down a little, but that's why it's at the cheaper end of the market.
