Hokay, so, I have absolutely no code experience whatsoever. However, I would like to learn.

Basically, i'm looking to code my site, with my designs, where I can host Portfolio work, Blog, and Photographs.

The first thing is on this website here:

There is a nice little blog bit, which is all embedded and coded in nice and simply, and looks good. First of all, can anyone point me in the direction of where I can learn to do this, and also if its simple?

Secondly, the thing I would like for my photographs and Portfolio is a Thumbnail to be displayed, which then when you click on it, it loads out into a pop out screen. I've seen a lot of sites with this, and I personally think its the best way to show work. Can someone also point me in the direction of this too please :)

Ahh forgot to mention Wordpress.

As far as i'm aware, they cost to redirect to a Domain that I have already bought. And I'm not doing that ;) I'd rather learn how to code it myself.

Lightbox. I like Slimbox2, does everything you want, is based on the popular jscript library jquery and is quick.

Have to say I don't understand what you mean about redirecting your Domain. Wordpress is blogging software you can use to build your site/blog with. Basically you upload it to your site/webspace and it helps you mange it, a framework. All you need is php enabled hosting with a MySql database.

Alternatively, if you don't like that I believe you can integrate blooger.com into your website though i've never tried it.
 
Ah my bad then.
I read somewhere else that wordpress made you use their Domain thing, and then asked you to pay to redirect it to your own and mask it.

Was on a forums somewhere when I was googling, must have been a mistake. Thanks for the help :)!
