HTPC Build Help Needed

I want to build a HTPC system but i've never built one before so don't know what i'll need. I've built pc's before but not for over couple of years due to having a asus G73 Gaming Laptop. I want the HTPC to play blu-ray from disk and rips from hard drive, mp3's and run emulators for mame, n64, gamecube, megadrive, snes and so on.

This is as far as i've got and its not far so any help would be great

Thanks for the help you guys, this will help a lot and i know what i can go for. What kind of cuu cooler & psu for a would you go for the Antec Fusion Remote HTPC Case.

Its so confusing nowadays with all these. I've decided i would also like the option to play some games like battlefield 3 so would i3 + cheap GPU or AMD Llano work.

Don't know about the vga card.
 
It was just an option while i was at it, The main reason on a better card is i've been setting up hyperspin which is a emulator front end. I will be playing emulators of mega drive, snes, mame, n64,gamecube,dreamcast,sega saturn,virtual pinball and maybe ps2. I've been setting this up using my asu G73JH laptop which has a ati hd 5870, just need somthing that is about the same card.

Its just so confusing when been out of pc building for a few years. Nintendo wii is another emulator i'm messing around with at the moment. Like i said its emulation i'm more instrested in than overhall pc gaming. My laptop runs my emulation fine but its starting to take to much hd space so moving it to mix with a htpc seems the right choice as i get to use it on big screen.

My laptop spec is the following if this helps on the emulation part.

Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 620M/820QM/720QM :1.6 GHz (not sandybridge)
DDR3 1066/1333 MHz 8GB
ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD 5870, 1G GDDR5 VRAM

Well i've sort have settled for these

- RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit
- AMD Llano A8-3870K 3.00GHz (Socket FM1) APU Processor

The Asus F1A75-M PRO AMD A75 has a Integrated AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 Series Graphics in Llano APU. How does that compare to the Ati Mobility HD 5870.

Whats the difference between the Asus F1A75-V PRO AMD A75 & the Asus F1A75-M PRO AMD A75.

I was told today that i need to get the fastest ram the motherboard can take to get the most out of the Integrated AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 Series Graphics in Llano APU. Is this correct? Its mad how fast things change in the components of a pc. With me not building a pc in over 2 years and not kept up with the goings on it all feels so alien.
