Hi all

I'm starting to settle on a spec for a HTPC build. Actually, that's a lie, because I've settled on it.

My one question is to do with power supply. Will a 400w Corsair unit be enough to power this machine, considering there will be 6 HDDs and an SSD inside?

Thank you

CPU: i3 530
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H57M-USB3
RAM: OCZ Platinum 2GB PC3-10666C7
Hard Drive 1: Current desktop OCZ Vertex II 60GB
HDDs: 6 x Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB (or 6 x 3TB.. haven't made up my mind yet)
Optical: LG CH08LS10
PSU: Corsair CX 400W ATX Power Supply
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
Case: Silverstone LC16B-MB

Thank you

thank you The Halk :)

I've just discovered that Windows doesn't natively support 3TB drives without tweaking, and that's never guaranteed, so won't be going with that option. I think the 2TB drives draw more power. I should still be okay yeah?

Yes should be fine
You will only need to think about it if installing a gfx card and that will depend on its power requirements

Like that case but would prefer the optical drive to the left to allow longer gfx card if the need ever arose.
I have a gd01 which also takes six hdds. Its huge but plenty of space inside.
