Just upgraded main components in work PC, re-using older parts for HTPC for the lounge.
HTPC movie duties, web browsing mostly.
Will want to run it as a gaming PC as well using 50" plasma as monitor
(PC vs Xbox for games is no contest ;))

CURRENTLY HAVE:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P board, Q6600, 6Gb DDR-2 Ram
Silverstone LC-17 htpc case.

NEED:

GRAPHICS CARD
- Good gaming graphics card to run 1080p gaming at high settings - or max if possible with [email protected]?

- Doesn't need to be "bleeding edge" as wont give good value for money.
Q: Is it worth getting a "stand in" card like the GTX460 and waiting till the newer cards come out?
Budget £200 max.

PSU
- One that will fit in case and will handle GTX 560ti (or whatever) level GPU

CPU COOLER
Good cooler for overclocked Q6600 (had it at 3.2 in my old case) maximum height 140mm to fit in the LC-17 case.

Everything else is sorted, will be sticking in a Samsung 2TB HDD in there, so almost good to go.

Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks, looks good.

Being an HTPC how quiet the components are is a factor too.
Is this PSU and graphics card options particulalrly quiet do you know?

ta.

I popped an n series lepa 600w into a system for a friend yesterday. I was very impressed with how quiet it was. The build quality is good for the price too, and the 12v rail will power either of those two cards without issue.
