Hi All

Looking to build a new HTPC focusing on:
Low power consumption
Low heat
Low noise
Will be left on 24/7 with usual HTPC programs running (SABSickbeard, Couch Potato, XBMC etc)

Enough power to handle 1080P video and potentially light gaming (Super Mario!) running Windows 8!

Thinking the ASRock board might clench it for me due to the lower power usage?

Thoughts so far are:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-4130 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Silent 430W Fanless "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply - Black £79.99
1 x ASRock H97M Pro4 Intel H97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £64.99
1 x MSI H97M-G43 Intel H97 (Socket 1150) Micro ATX Motherboard £64.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD20EZRX) HDD £62.99
1 x Silverstone SST-ML04B Milo HTPC Case - Black £55.99
1 x Crucial MX100 128GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT128MX100SSD1) £54.98
1 x Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £41.99
Total : £525.52 (includes shipping : £8.00).

That seems cool.

Yes the PSU is super expensive but thats the price of silence.

MSI I think looks better.

You don't actually need a completely fanless PSU for silence. The Corsair RM series for example runs at 0rpm until you hit 40% of its capacity.
