I'm currently have a desktop machine that is horribly noisy, in classic beige and with pannels missing.

since in mainly use the computer for my entertainment in the evening i.e watching stuff, it might as well be a HTPC.

Current spec is:

Core2duo E6300 at stock (have clocked to 3.0ghz)
2GB Ram
Asus P5B motherboard
Nvida 6200 graphics card
WD320gb hdd
DVB-S card

What do you reckon I should change. My aim is to build a HTPC that looks reasonably nice, can play 1080p video (which is can already) with no problem and is as cheap and can be to achieve the aforementioned goals.

Since i'll need a new case and PSU I was thinking about a shuttle (i used ot love my old SN45G) but are there any better options?

just get a HTPC case.

May need a new motherboard to fit in depending on what you choose.

You spec is fine for what you need to use it for.
