Hi guys,

Need some friendly advice ;)

Building a HTPC and have a few questions.

1) Is the PSU (150w) comes with case ok to pwr my build?

2) Should I upgrade the PSU and if so what 2?

3) Can anyone recommend another good Mini-ITX case for a HTPC?

The build:
Lian Li PC-Q09FB Mini-ITX HTPC Chassis - Black
£88.99

Intel Core i3 540 3.06GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156)
£83.99

Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Mini-ITX Motherboard
£82.99

Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA-II 64MB Cache - OEM (WD20EARS)
£58.98

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C8 1333MHz Dual-Channel (CMX4GX3M2A1333C8)
£44.99

Sub Total : £299.95

Thanks,
Tom

Is this just for some light web/xbmc etc or you gaming on it?

If its just web/xbmc etc have you thought about an AMD fusion system. The E350 boards.

Not as nice a case but better psu :
Thermaltake VL52021N2 Element Q 220W Mini ITX Case

£55 elsewhere

Thanks for your reply's :D

If I was to go with th build listed would a 150w PSU be ok?

If not would it be possible to add a higher watt PSU in the case?

Thanks,
;)

The PSU will be fine with what you have proposed.

I'd recommend going for a AMD Zacate system, however, as it's only for media and not gaming.

Also the onboard Intel graphics won't be any good if you plan on watching blu ray* films or bitsteaming high definition audio (True HD/Dolby DTS-MA) to an AV receiver.

*Films may stutter with 23.976fps playback as the Intel can't output at this frame rate. Any dedicated graphics card will work better and you will be able to have HD audio through HDMI on the graphics card.

Awesome thanks! :D

Would you recommend:

Gigabyte GA-E350N-USB3 Zacate with HD6310 iGPU - AMD Fusion (ITX)

Thanks

Anyone have any experience with the:

Gigabyte GA-E350N-USB3 Zacate with HD6310 iGPU - AMD Fusion (ITX)

Will this make a good HTPC? support 1080P video etc?

Thanks,
