I'm in the process of building a htpc computer for my lounge, the idea is to ditch my ps3 as it sounds like a hurricane when watching blu rays . I currently use the ps3 and my laptop for watching movies . On my laptop I have win 7 and use xbmc to watch my media .

On my new build I want it to boot straight into a so and load my media and was thinking of booting straight into xbmc but not sure if this is possible or if there is a better operating system for me to use .

Main thing it will be used for is MTV file format and blu rays . Would like ure help and suggestions please

Have a search in the hifi section for htpc. Use the search tool. Loads of threads with the same question

Just throw xbmc into the windows start menu job done :)

Yup. I've got an old laptop (minus internal hard drive) that's booting into XBMCBuntu from an SD card, and despite the fact that it's slow on loading (due completely to the SD card), it's just not quite as good as the machine could be if it was running Windows with XBMC on top.
