HTPC considerations

I have an old shuttle lying around, nothing amazing
2800xp, onboard sound etc etc 512 ram

I am thinking of buying xp mce with a remote and installing it,
is that a good idea as I have a plasma with a VGA port.
I guess I will use it to play dvds but I will need to get sky/Digital TV through it, what are the best ways of doing this?

either through a tv tuner card, or if your graphics supports it through its video in?

If you are just looking for Digital TV, your best bet is a DVB-T tuner card such as the Compro T200, Nebula or Blackgold. (if you go for any other make sure they are MCE compatable) . Going for one of these is best in terms of picture quality etc as you are taking the mpeg2 stream directly to your pc.

If you want sky digital you'll need an analogue tuner. Check out the xpmce and the green button forums if you need further help on the best way to do this.
