Guys,

Might be a daft question but is it at all possible to build a HTPC that will work with a JVC HV32P37S HD Compatable CRT??

Only I'm getting ready to upgrade my ageing P4 system & had been thinking about building a dedicated HTPC.
Now I know you can get some Graphics cards with Component output but will my TV be capable of displaying the picture correctly?

Will it be worth my while or should I just build a nice new spangly Games Rig??

Thanks for any help.

Neil

HD compatable usually just means that the TV has component connectors and can either downscale the input or can be plugged into a HD source. I think the minimum resolution for windows XP is 640x480(but it could be 800x640) if your TV can manage that then you should be fine. If not then no.

Thanks for the help Pinkaardvark

According to the manual & web sources my TV can display HD @ 1080i over the component connection so I'm hoping it will be able to handle the display.

If it does manage to display correctly does this mean I could stream HD trailers from the PC & watch them as nature intended?

Thanks again.

Neil
