I have 500 to spend on an HTPC and would love to build it myself... I have been browsing the site and was wondering If anyone could come up with a spec... or suggest an alternative solution?

The only aims in this build are low noise... and dimensions for case can't be any bigger than

W = 500mm H = 130mm D = 365mm

I thankyou in advance, im speccing one up as I ask this question and will post it soon but was wondering if anyone would like to have a go aswell...

Thanks again,
-George

Oup sorry shouldve mentioned..... Blu-ray would be desirable but there will be no gaming so graphics only need to handle 1080p video.

Main requirements are so I can store all my movies, music and photos in oneplace and watch/listen to them at my desire.

Thankyou for your fast reply :)

Everything about that build is perfect and very similar to mine in terms of components the only thing is the case is too big... I need it to fit in the space outlined in my first post if possible.

Thankyou very much for the response though.

sry missed that, well I did see but forgot

This fits, but is out of stock, costs quite a bit more but includes PSU so when you take that into account its not too much more

Its a different form factor, mini ITX rather than micro ATX
I can do you a mITX build but the thing with them is you have to get slmiline optical drives and 2.5" HDDs which cost a lot more to get the same kinda power
Contact OcUK see if theyre expecting a delivery of the Antec, alternatively you may have to source from somewhere else if OcUK dont have it in stock, most HTPC cases exceed you dimensions one wasy or another, normally on height

ahah oh yeah, how did I miss that *facepalm*

I can switch the shelves in my cabinet to give me an extra 3cm on top of the height? if thats any help.. maybe I will have look elsewhere in the meantime and contact overclockers tommorow.

Thanks for all this help..

* also turns out I can cut the back of our cabinet if neccesary so I can have the case hang out about 5cm? Not sure if this is ok to do?
