Well my HTPC PC has finally succumbed to its limits. Recently got a 1080P screen, but alas my PC maxes out on the CPU 100% ish.

I need to be speced!

I want to play 1080p with NO slowdown. I want the price to be minimum utilising the following I already have. Please can you all help, but I want to be able to play 1080p movies with no slowdown (cannot over emphasise this :D)

Basically got a P4 3.4, 1GB ram and a 6800GS AGP card, Hauppauge 250 TV card connected to my Sky and 3x hard drives.

So what do I need, do any MOBOS have built in soundcards able to play DTS with SPDIF connection and onbuilt gfx capable of outputting HDMI into back of TV or will I need a dedicated gfx card for playing HD?

Well :).......

If you want something cheap, go for something like this:

Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G Socket AM2+ mATX Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4850e 2.5GHz Socket AM2 Energy Efficient Retail
+DDR 2 ram of your choice

The 780G chipset can easilly handle 1080p and you can even use a much lower speed CPU if needed (but the cost between the 4050e / 4450e and the 4850e is only a few quid).

OcUK dont stock it for some bizare reason! Its a low wattage CPU so I wouldn't settle with one of the ones they do stock, but thats just me.

Google some reviews for 780G or the 780G mobo's that OCUK stock and you'll get some reviews of people testing 1080p content and use some really naff CPU's (like a sempron) without any problems!
