I recently upgraded my rig. I now have the following bits left
1 x Asus P5B Deluxe
1 x Q6600
2 GB RAM
1 x 8800 GT with a Zalman cooler on it

I have a 500GB HD that i can put into this too. I have windows 7 also

I want to build a quiet Media PC / HTPC. I would like it to be not much wider than a Sky box, but can be twice the height of one. Obviously some gaming would be a plus, but quietness is the main objective. I have an old small PC that is doing the job, plays the odd movie / entire season of something, but its pretty noisy, and pretty poo TBH :)

But i also dont want to spend a fortune

So i need

1 x Chassis
Im looking at the Antec MicroFusion, which would drop the need for the PSU below, but would it power my 8800gt?

1 x PSU

1 x Q6600 HSF to fit in the chassis ( i doubt a Fenrir is getting into the Micro Fusion)

1 x Remote compatible with Windows 7 Media Centre

Anything else?

I was always wondering if it would be possible to use a sky+ HD box as a pc case.... only limits would be the psu size unless it was external..

Hey im looking todo the exact same thing, q6600 8gb ddr2 and a 750gb hdd.

Im goin to be using the same case Antec Micro and to eliminate the graphics card looking at getting a

Asus P5Q-EM G45 for around 90£, might be worth a look, eliminates the need for a graphics card and will play 1080p sweet.

Also that 8800 wont fit as the case from what i can remember is low profile only.

I did a similar thing,

I used the Antec Fusion. Got a Remote controll with that, with a built in IR to the case.
