HTPC gpu recommendation

Good choice. The 5450 is perfectly fine and can unload some of the workload from you CPU. As for that particular 5450, I think it's an XFX one. I got the same one and in my slim HTPC it get very warm. You need to have reasonably airlow. Sitting at idle mine is generally around 50-55ºC and during 1080p playback get to around 75ºC, higher on a warm day. As long as your case has some airflow it will be fine.
