Hi guys,

I built a htpc for the front room, Bitfenix prodigy, i3, 8gb ram, 500w Cooler master PSU.

Im looking to add a graphics card to play a few games on it. Its running thru a 40" 1080p Samsung tv and will be connected via HDMI

Im not looking to max everything out but medium settings and dont think the games i will play will be all that demanding, Mark of the ninja, Deadlight, Walking Dead, Dirt etc.

What card would you recommend? New or second hand isnt an issue but due to the case, dual slot at most and preferably reference style cooler with HDMI out.

Max budget is in the area of 100-150 quid, but cheaper is good too ;)

Thanks in advance :)

any thoughts on a 650/7750?

Built mates computer last month. 3570k, asrock mobo, 8gb ddr and a 7850 on a 500watt in a prodigy. If £150 is not a problem grab a 7850 much more future proof with oc potential. He runs bf3 max - MSAA and it plays very nicely through his 40" samsung LED.

I'd go for a 7850 too, with that budget.

You probably dont want to be overclocking on a HTPC, since you want to keep temps down, but 7850 will provide plenty of power for gaming.

A 7770 would be enough for your current demands, but 7850 is better for longevity.

I built a HTPC last June with parts from an d c2d 6700 system while I upgraded my main pc to a 3570k with a gtx670. Looking at it now I don't actually spend that much time on the htpc playing games even though the 5770 plays games like the ones you mentioned just fine I really don't get the time and when I do turn it on it's to watch movies and TV. 90% of my gaming is done on my a my main rig although the htpc is good for playing roms and emulators. My advice is don't go overboard on the video cars get a 2nd hand card like a 6850 1gb.
