HTPC help

Hi all,

I'm thinking of building a HTPC to go in the living room. I mainly want it to:

Watch / record tv through
Rip and watch my dvds
Hold & play all my music
A bit of internet surfing when I cant be bothered to move to the spare room and use my computer.

I know nothing about the HTPC thing and I can't seem to find too much information on the internet, so I have a couple of questions that I hoped some of you nice people may help me with:

- Is there a decent forum / website (non-competitor!) that someone could post links to?
- What kind of kit do I need to meet my requirements above?
- If I had a TV tuner and linked this up to my TV, would this carry audio as well?
