HTPC/Light Gaming GPU option

Hi All,

So I've currently got a 980ti in my server/tv PC. It's doing fine from a gaming perspective as I'm only really playing indie stuff on the TV, but I'd like to step up to something that can manage 4k HDR content so obviously I need something with HDMI 2.1 out.

The question is, what are folks opinions on a good 2nd hand option to get equivalent/better gaming performance, hit the video decode requirements at the cheapest price point?

All thoughts appreciated.

To be honest a new RX 7600 would suit you fine. Has HDMI 2.1b and AV1 so it's media champ and performance should be about 45% better, if not more. OCUK have on for £230.

Thanks for the suggestion folks.

I haven't really paid attention to the used GPU market since the crypto boom/crash at the end of 2021, but is there not a 2nd hand card that would do the job worth picking up for cheaper? If there's something in the £100-150 region that would be preferable. I thought used cards were cheaper again these days!

You could look at a 5700 XT or a 2060 Super Upton a 2070. All still an upgrade but you would need to check PSU requirements.
