I am looking to build a new HTPC. The plan is to use it as an always on 24/7 machine running a PLEX server and encoding movies. Storage can be primarily taken care of by external HDD/s if needed.

My preference is for an ITX build as I don't really want an intrusive noisy box in the corner of my sitting room!

Not required:
Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse
Gaming
OS - Not decided yet on Windows or Linux.

1 x Asus H81I-Plus Intel H81 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard - £58.99
1 x Intel Core i3-4150 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail - £97.99
1 x Kingston 120GB SSDNow V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive - (SV300S37A/120G) - £38.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Red 4TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache HDD - OEM WD40EFRX - £137.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (HX316C10FBK2/8) - £38.99
1 x Antec ISK-310 Mini-ITX Case - Black/Silver w/ 150W PSU

Total Damage - £434.94

SSD as main boot drive so will be nice and fast.
i3-4150 3.50 Ghz gives 4899 Passmarks with a TDP:54 Watts so plenty of horsepower for Plex Server for transcoding if needed.
3TB of storage should be loads and leave plenty of headroom and low power when not in use.

What tweaks would you suggest?

The standard Intel cooler will fit in, the HDD might be a squeeze but happy to drop this into an Icy Box or something like that if it doesn't, so no biggie.
