Hi lads,

Am building a cheap HTPC, require the following things with roughly a £200 budget, It will be mainly used to record and view freeview, as opposed to viewing HD material etc, but the power to do that occasionally would be nice. I would prefer an Intel chip,
and both my hard disks are 7200 rpm ide, is there any benefit in upgrading them to serial ATA? Is there a motherboard which still supports ide?

2gb ram
processor/heatsink
Mobo
case

Have got already -
2x ide hard drives
atx psu
dvd drive
pci-express 7300gt graphics (passive cooled)
win tv twin tuner card

Thanks for your help.

There aren't too many motherboards supporting 2x IDE any more, the Asus P5N-E 650 SLi does though so it would appear to fit. Other than that this should meet your requirements although it is around £30 over and the case is currently out of stock. :)
