HTPC performance issue

Wolfdale E8200, 2 gig DDR2, using 2 Nova T 500's, Vista Ultimate streaming over homeplug HD network to 2 (soon to be 3) xbox 360 xtenders.

We keep getting network issue, and jittery slow performance through the menu system.

One extender is on the network switch connected to the media centre, so doesnt use thehomeplug HD connection, but the other 2 will be using it.

Any idea if its the network causing it, or is the box struggling?

what speed are the homeplug's? I had to upgrade to gigabit ethernet to stop any judders or network issues here...

I was having similiar problems when i was using wireless 108MBps to stream to my HTPC.
It was solved by hardwiring the HTPC to my router with a 20m RJ45 cable
Now i stream 720p .mkv blu-ray files with no stuttering at all

Homeplugs are 200mbps HD's (DLinks)

Never really had a problem before!

nope, maybe not....but I reckon they might not be quite up to it!

Have you tried eliminating the Homeplugs with a good old massive RJ cable? This would seem like an easy and inexpensive test of whether these are the problem, although at 200mb/s I doubt it.
