Hi guys looking for a bit of advice...

My 8 year old hifi is having an identity crisis and now thinks it's a microwave! Any CD I put in gets super heated and it won't play them  Rather than spending money on therapy for it I’m looking to replace it with a HTPC.

I like the idea of having all my albums displayed by album cover on the TV so folk can just pick what they want rather than pulling all my CDs out. Also nice to get the visualisations up for parties and things. However, I’d still like to be able to put a CD in and play it without having the TV on.

So my question is... how do you operate a HTPC without a display? or where can you buy a small 7" TFT? So you can see what track you are on etc

I like the idea of the Zalman HD160XT-S:

but £380 is a bit pricey! I noticed the Antec Fusion has a display on it but not sure what sort of information it provides?

Any help would be much appreciated :)
