Hi Folks,

Can you let me know if there's anything else I need to add to this or if there's anything you would change? I am looking to build a HTPC for as cheap as possible but it has to be able to play/ record freeview and also play HD-DVDs and Blu ray.

I have already 450w power supply ,case and vista home premium.

LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray Reader & HD-DVD ROM Serial ATA Drive - Retail (£65.79)
Compro VideoMate DVB-E700 Digital TV Internal PCI-E - Retail (£56.39)
Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H GeForce 7100 Micro-ATX (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (£56.39)
Samsung SpinPoint F1 640GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD642JJ) (£49.34)
Intel Celeron E1200 1.6Ghz Dual-Core Processor (LGA775) - Retail (£38.76)
OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK) (£25.84)
Zalman CNPS7500-ALCU CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775) (£23.49)
Compro K100 Remote Control Upgrade Kit - Retail (£21.14)
Akasa AK-190-SM Smoke Ultra Quiet 80mm Fan - 3 pin (£3.51)
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3450 Silence 256MB DDR2 TV-Out/DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail (11125-00200R) (£24.66)

This is around £360 total

I am also looking for the pc to be quiet as it will probably be left on 24/7. I was going to overclock the cpu but only to around 2ghz just to keep the heat down.

Cheers

Matt

Personally, I would go AMD for your budget, you can get a 2.5GHz AMD 64 X2 4850e (45w CPU) for £40ish and a mATX AMD 780G chipset motherboard (w/HDMI) for around £60 which would do much better and will play 1080p without a problem, should work out slightly cheaper than your naff celeron intel spec as you wont need the graphics card ;)

Also, you will find it cheaper to get the "Vista" E700, as it comes with the upgraded remote and is about £60-£65.
