I think that I have done all the research, but could someone just confirm to me that the following will be capable of bit streaming DTS-MA and 24p in the form of large blu-ray rips.

Intel G3220
ASRock H97M-itx
4gb ram

Thanks.

Yes it will bitstream DTS-MA and properly support 24p. Good little setup, cheap but still quite powerful.

any good websites out there about HTPC's and where to start etc? been doing a bit of googling but only companies selling complete systems, looking todo my own build.

thanks

This is a decent place to start tbh. One thing I can highly recommend is getting a modular power supply. Building in a small case with loads of extra cables flying around is a nightmare. Also, think ahead with the build. Plan on storing media on it? Make sure you put a big HDD in there because you won't have many SATA ports or space for extra drives. Going to game on it? Rethink that cpu.

Those are the things I wish I had thought about when I built mine, although I was on a shoestring budget at the time. Also, definitely put your OS on an SSD so you can fire it up quickly when you flop down on the sofa.

Get kody on it and away you go (unless you want to watch BD films or 3D).

thanks for the info i have put a post on systems here for help with a entry level system with capability of upgrading is need be, hopefully some kind people out there will help, thanks

Im looking for something simlar Cheap but powerful enough as a PLEX client Don't want Android based. The server im using is the i5 4690 even though its powerful enough. The reason been we use the PC in me and the mrs bedroom we watch all our large BluRay files on the system we have PLEX media Server and PLEX Home Theatre on there also. Now our tv downstairs is the Samsung H6400 48" we have an Android box connected to it with the PLEX app even though the box and tv support MKV the native player on PLEX wants to transcode the MKV says its not compatable and im a PLEX pass holder so thinking on going on windows now i don't mind transcoding out the network but transcoding in home to an android box kind of annoyed me really. And ive tried everything on the server and client settings Exc still no change. Could someone Spec me something cheap and cheerful as a client please for KODI and PLEX please
