Recently I had a craving for playing some of my steam games from the couch with my xbox controller. Unfortunately it seems my HTPC is not up to it really, I wasn't expecting miracles but anyway my current HTPC is

Llano A6-3500
F1-A75M Pro
4GB XMS3
64GB Vertex 2E
Antec Earthwatts 380
Case is a Moneual 320

I am only looking to play the likes of State of Decay or Bastion, are any of the latest APUs up to the task, say medium settings at 720p?

I was looking at the 7850K with a cheap FM2+ board, would set me back about £175 or so. But is it worth it? I can't fit a GPU in my case and I don't want to change it.

Ah it looks like it will - are they the best low profile option these days? I see there is a low profile KFA2 750ti on OCUK at the moment

Ah good. :)

Some models may vary and the cooling frame (or card itself) may extend beyond the PCI-E slot (no good for the case you have, right?), so you'd need to check that before pulling trigger. The KFA2 750Ti Low Profile card looks fine, yes.

The new AMD R7 265 is slightly faster but too big.

And there are also more powerful mini-GTX 760's which look like they'd (possibly) fit, although height, if not depth, may turn out to be the issue:

It does look like the best bet for your case and budget, is that KFA2 you mentioned.
