Hi all just finished my htpc build and will be posting pics later but a couple of questions.

What s the best driver to use with the ati gfx card.

And what are the best settings to get the highest quality picture as I have a pioneer 5090 and used to use a ps3 which had a fantastic picture and wanted some tips on how to get the same from a pc.

hmmm Im a noob when it comes to a htpc - but I recently used 11.6 (IMO I would get the 11.7 or even the beta 11.8) ...
The windows screen didnt look the best but movies on there looked fantastic. Also I used win 7 (tried win xp - but couldnt get my sound to work via the tv).

Dont know what to pick for bluray and DVD and mkv playback

In the ati control panel there are 4 options

YCbCr 4:4:4 pixel format
YCbCr 4:2:2 pixel format
RGB 4:4:4 pixel format studio (limited rgb)
RGB 4:4:4 pixel format PC (FULL rgb)

I am usin a hdmi cable to my 5090 pioneer tv and don't know which to pick as I will not be using the desktop or gaming on this machine it's only for xbmc playing videos
