Right, been putting this off since before Christmas but I'm finally going to get around to putting together a HTPC. Budget, £300 - £400. I have memory and a SSD already. Also have a spare Win7 licence.

Proposed build;

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD A10-5800K Black Edition 3.80GHz (Socket FM2) APU Trinity Quad Core Processor (AD580KWOHJBOX) £97.99
1 x BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Case - Midnight Black £66.98
1 x MSI A75IA-E53 AMD A75 Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £64.99
1 x MSI HD 6670 2048MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card £49.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020047-UK) £49.99
1 x Samsung SH-224BB/BEBE 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £20.99
Total : £365.04 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Doesn't have to be AMD, happy to go Intel for same results at similar money. The only other thing I need is a wireless keyboard with a touch pad built-in.

Light gaming and HT is where the A10 really shines and you would struggle to get the same sort of performance from a intel build for the same price. From what I've seen, dual graphics with the trinity's are pretty impressive considering the cost.

What is the RAM?

The RAM is 2 x 4GB @ 1600MHz

How does the graphics card stand up to the hybrid crossfire? I do like the idea of 77w on the CPU though.

That looks good. I do actually have a 6870 going spare, the only problem is it's quite noisy but it means I could go with the better i3 setup and save some money not buying a new GPU right now and grab something quieter later on?

Makes sense. You can always have a look in the MM, see whats available, usually a bargain or two knocking about.
