I've been looking at a lot of reviews and due to cash contraints i think im going to get myself the Logitech Z-5500's to attach to my media PC for my 3metre x 3metre lounge. They will be used for movies, music, and X360 (hopefully)...

My main question is, what is the best way to connect them - and is it worth also connecting them to my X360? My media PC has onboard 5.1, but no optical...so would it be best to connect the Logitech via the onboard analogue 5.1 and the Xbox via the optical? Or should i get a decent soundcard for the HTPC and connect it via optical...but then what would i do about connecting the Xbox etc as it appears to only have an optical out?

I know there are much better speakers out there, but i'm going to start with these as i already have a seperates system for music etc in another room.

Get coaxial (rca) and optical that should do.

Plan on getting those speakers myself and already have my 360 connected to pc via optical (the square plug thingy) will have pc and 360 connected to speakers eventually.

If your onboard doesnt support coaxial(rca) or optical which you say it doesnt then i would recommend a decent sound card to give you those options. Specially if you want dolby digital from your htpc.
