The machine has been off since mid Dec, I performed a few upgrades, blu ray drive, another internal drive, and it booted fine after the upgrades. Windows spent some time doing it's updates and then restarted, but now it won't boot. I can't get past the Asrock boot logo (ctrl alt delete works but I can't get to boot menu, bios etc). Stuck in a W10 dvd but I can't get to the boot menu to boot from it to do a recovery.

Keyboard is wired USB, not tried a back port yet, nothing else plugged in, not even on the network at the moment, HDMI is onboard...

Any thoughts before CMOS reset and starting from scratch? There's no important data on there.

Weird. Testing it out it was fine when everything but one of the new drives was in. Tried different ports, same problem. Never had a drive stop a machine from booting. Annoying that it's now borked when a few hours ago it was a brand new drive, formatted and running fine.

its been a few years but in the past i've seen a faulty drive cause similar issues. not 100% but it could be crashing the detection stage. Drives tend to die very quickly or not at all so if it is new I wouldn't be to surprised :)
though its not something simple like trying to boot from the new drive?

you may be able to disable the boot logo to see whats going on?

I'm going to whack it in a caddy and see if there's any life in it first. It's one of two new hard drives in the system, accompanied by a new blu ray drive, and it's not getting upset with either of those...
