Hey all. As above really, I have a Gigabyte ds2r with an e6400 in it which has been running fine at 3ghz for the last year and a bit. X8 multiplier and 375 fsb and have been very pleased with the performance. But now it refuses to boot into vista. The only thing that has changed since working is my USB hub that I bought. I have lots plugged into it now as I hotswap with my MacBook. It's powering a few things including my printer and a mybook 1tb drive. My question is:

Can an overclock fail because a USB port is drawing too much power? Would be nice to know if this can happen so I don't have to drag the damned thing out of my unit.

I can't give you a definitive answer as I've never experienced it but what I would say is that the Printer & the 1TB drive will have their own power supply so they won't really draw much power from the hub.

I think the only way to tell for certain though is to take it out and test it.

Things I have plugged in are:

Dinovo Bluetooth dongle
MX revolution dongle
250gb wd passport
1tb mybook
Canon ip4600

But saying that the hub is powered too. Was just a thought. Looks like the thing has to come out, I'll try when I get in

Given that the USB hub is powered, I would find it unlikely, you might want to try bumping youve vcore a notch and seeing if that helps. You could just unplug the thing and if it works with it unplugged you probably have your answer though.
