Reuse the HDD, but everything else is most likely going to have to be changed.

Why? I use a T2350 dual core @1.86ghz with an AMD 4350 graphics card. Plays 1080 no problems, even plays 720p hi10p. This is all in XBMC so his current hardware will be fine. Handles 1080 youtube too, it also is fine with hd iplayer.

Casterina,

Have a look round you may be able to get a case that will fit that space. This case will just fit, check the depth first.

It takes your current setup totally. You will want to try with both psu's to find out which is the quieter one. Also you can potentially look at new cpu coolers if you need it quieter still. But for only £40 you will have a htpc setup.

Only the Powercool HTPC-200 would fit your components, but you will need a mATX PSU as well. Your motherboard is mATX, not mITX.
Also I would remove those links as you cannot link to competitors on this forum. (you will bit hit with the naughty stick)

I'll do more searches on mATX cases, is my current PSU a mATX or standard?

Also I've removed competitors link, thanks for telling me that

Your Psu is a standard ATX.
What is the budget for this case, as this will narrow down the choices.
My budget is £60-70 including case, remote and wireless keyboard & mouse, I can use a mATX PC case doesn't have to be a HTPC case but must be small and less than 18 cm height and 45 cm width as I will put it on the second shelf of the TV stand

Try and search out a X-Case Q100 using google.

It's 140mm tall and 360mm wide on the front face.

However, it is 450mm deep which may be a problem because the shelves of that unit don't look too deep. How deep are they?

Also, the rear cable tidy/support that runs down the centre at the back and the rear legs being set closer to each other than the front ones may mean the case would stick out the front rather than being able to be pushed back to keep it flush with the front.

If your shelf will fit something 340mm deep then this is just about the only option in your budget (if you lase the case on its side) that won't force you into buying new components too.

I've looked at the X-Case Q100 case before, but the case height is 36 cm but I've only got 18 cm height on the shelf

I can use a normal mATX PC case doesn't have to be a HTPC case but must be small and less than 18 cm height and 45 cm width as I will put it on the second shelf of the TV stand

The Q100 isn't 36cm tall. The dimensions of it are 14cm x 36cm x 45cm.
Look at pictures of it to see what sides match each one of the dimensions. ;)

The dimension labels given for it are as if it is stood on it's side like a normal case would be (tall and narrow rather than short and wide)

I've never bought a computer case before so I don't know how to measure the dimensions, if I only have 18 cm of height, which case dimensions should I be looking at to know if it will fit on the second shelf of the TV stand?

Look at any case. Label the sides 1 for the shortest, 3 for the longest and 2 for the other side.

For the Q100 that would be as follows:
8282855544_45717def6f.jpg
8281798609_0122ac1df1.jpg

Note that on the front, the drive ejects on the right hand side of the front panel. I marked this on the overhead view so you can identify the front width as being side 2 and the case being side 3 in depth.

As the Q100 has dimensions of 450*140*360 mm you can easily work out what side relates to what dimension.

450(Side 3)*140(Side 1)*360(Side 2) mm

Think about how the case sits and you'll see that Side 1 and Side 2 will be the front dimensions and Side 3 will be the depth of the case.

14cm height (Side 1) is less than the 18cm space between shelves - it fits! Next the width, at 36cm (Side 2) it will easily fit in the 45cm wide gap. The big question is the depth - your TV unit does not look very deep and the case is 45cm deep (Side 3).

Now consider the Zalman Z1 case. Using the same labelling method for the sides you get:
8282855392_61f9b6506e.jpg
8282855458_e338472f01.jpg

The dimensions of that case are listed as 169*425*340 mm so you can easily work out what side relates to what dimension

169(Side 1) * 425(Side 3) x 340(Side 2) mm

Think about how the case will sit on its side and you'll see that Side 1 and Side 3 will be the front dimensions and Side 2 will be the depth of the case.

169mm height (Side 1) is less than the 180mm space between shelves - it fits! Next the width, at 425mm (Side 3) it will just squeeze in the 450mm wide gap. This case isn't as deep at just 340mm (Side 2) so if your shelf is 340mm or more deep it will fit.

Deep is from the back to the front like in this image where I put the red dots?

If so it's 42 cm

I've looked at some mATX cases today, CiT S003B seems to be good,

EDIT: Found some images of the CiT S003B, the side doesn't look very good
