HTTP Question

I have a PC here that has a strange problem.

I can FTP sites, ping sites, use NetBios to access other PC's but cannot get access to any site using HTTP

Has anyone seen this?

Ran full spyware/viruse/registry scans etc. All clean.

EDIT:

Chekced usiong other Broswers as well, in case an add-on was the problem.

Still no joy.

Seen this once before, but resetting with winock fixed it, but not joy now.

UPDATE : It seems that AVG 8 was the culprit.

Uninstalled that and everything fine, never come accross that before.

I have seen ZoneAlarm do that as well - guess thats what makes them safe, they don't let you do anything!!

I had this problem once and it turned out it was because the router (DG834G) was overheating as it wasn't put on its stand properly.

Took a while to work that one out too
