*** Huawei Mate 40 Pro ***

Too much it seems, luckily enough I managed to it cheaper somewhere else , saving $400. I was about to place the order when I spotted this...

Not a big fan of the design or these types of partnerships but at 75% off I decided to test the obvious listing error and placed the order. Needless to say it was cancelled once they realised their mistake. Now back up to a ridiculous $2.5k. I'll get round to placing the Mate 40 plus order again soon.

Liaow are the mor expensive at the moment and you're likely to get stung by customs too, so waiting for till after Christmas might be wise with price drops on the import and a maybe word on a U.K release by then.

Will give impressions when it arrives, probably 10 days or so.

Will be interested in how you get on with it, still have the Mate 20 Pro here and it's still doing well.

I went with Giztop, hell of a saving over anywhere else aside from Cect-shop, but they don't do PayPal on preorders and I want that protection with imports.

I did have a bit of hassle with my last Giztop purchase, hopefully not the same this time round. I'm expecting it mid November - fingers crossed.

I think the Mate 40 Pro is available on the 13th in the U.K with pre-orders coming with a quite respectable speaker it seems.

Yeah, used EMUI before without any complaints.

Incidentally I tried Googlifier and it works fine on a recent Matepad pro I purchased, however it's not compatible with EMUI 11 so if I do want GMS on the device I'll have to do it manually. ( already Mate 40's out there with GMS working ).

TradingShenzhen are offering the device cheaper still, just over £1100 so I'm going to go with them, avoid Giztop and save £150. Longer delivery time though.

Trading only use Global Priority and they're adamant theirs no customs charges. (Not sure how mind you ).Giztop will entertain any declaration requests up to a point. DHL will contact you prior to letting it out of HK if there's any charges.

I imagine there won't be any European warehouse stock for a good month or till initial orders are fulfilled.

Trading just bumped the price up to €1397, basket error now saying my quantity is unavailable. Should have purchased yesterday.

So emailed Giztop, in stock and will ship soon via DHL. However someone has asked on their site regarding stock and they've responded saying preorders will ship 15th!. Giztop might be the cheapest but take any promises with a pinch of salt, I'm looking at a long wait if that's the case.

No, I read that too. Although I have seen people successfully running GMS on the device.

Giztop still haven't shipped my mate 40 Pro+ order, latest reply said another 2 weeks.Granted Huawei seems to be struggling to get Mate40 Pro+ devices out there but It's pretty evident Giztop are just brokers, take your money and then look to purchase it somewhere rather than actually holding stock

Some places have stock, but at inflated prices around £1600+ which is daft, in comparison you can pick up the P40 Pro+ for around £800 which is a cracking camera phone.

honestly quite tempted by the P40 pro despite its lack of googleness. The camera on the S20 FE continues to dissapoint to the extent I'm missing my old mate 20 pro!

So annoyed doesn't have Google service .

I would absolutely get this and it would take all the indecision away from my next phone. I'm trying to decide what to get but nothing it as good as this

Does the camera stack well on the Pro? The p30 Pro I think does better due to OIS. It'll be interesting to know what you find.

I watched a review a while back and it said the main cam had no OIS and it was saved for the top pro plus model. It showed when in night mode and in video recording. I mean who leaves out OIS in the main cam these days.

Wow. That bad. I wax considering this
Well to be fair the mate 20 pro's camera was recognised as being very very good despite its age. The FE just doesn't capture the same ount of detail and it's annoying however camera aside it's a brilliant phone.
