Hub wont work

Hey,

Just aquired a netgear hub.

Ive got the connection from my router that was going to my pc going in to the first port.

Ive connected port 2 to my pc and it says its connected to the internet but i cant browse the internet? cant do anything internet related though it says im connected.

Reason why im doing this is because i want to connect my ps3 and xbox also by ethernet cable.

Ive tested the cable and it diffenently works.

Any help please :(?

This should be moved to the network section, Im sure a mod will pop along and do that for you.

When people say hub they usaully mean switch. Can you give the exact model number of the netgear product? Also on your pc can you do an ipconfig /all in the command line and post the results up.

What firewall software are you using? Can you connect your PS3 or Xbox via ethernet cable as well to see if they work and can get online just to check the hub/switch is working.
 
If it's a real hub and not a switch you'll need a crossover cable between the hub and router, or to use the uplink port.
 
got it working.

for some reason the hug doesnt like the internet connection going through port 1 :/ so ive got it going through port 4 and everything is working perfectly.

odd!?
