I'm on BT Broadband 1MB, and over the past 2 weeks I've got a stupidly high ping in general.

I tried to ping uk2.net and got 88ms!

I got my mate to do and she got 22ms!

I'm gaming on my server and get net_graph 3 as 106ms! This is a UK server! Its not a fluctating ping as such, just a constant +/- 10ms.

In general, I get pings of ATLEAST 60. And these are strangely German servers. This isn't my router or my PC doing it, cos I've tried more than one PC on my network, with the others off etc. And I've actually just reformatted. I've had to buy a new router anyway so its not that either.

My friend said it could be something to do with "interleaving". How do I find out if my line has it or not?

Any other ideas why my ping could be so messed up?

Interleaving stabilises lines to provide higher throughput on BT wholesale MAX ADSL systems.

Dont expect it would apply to you if yours is fixed speed product?

You ADSL modem status page may tell you about your current interleave.

Perhaps its just more users in your local area and or ISP issues.
