Hey guys.

so i have a huge problem come by after installing my new CPU heatsink and 970 GCard!

My USB devices, mouse keyboard are going absoloutely mental, my keyboard randomly disconnects and starts loading things up (whilst typing this it keeps loading up task manager) and if i run my hand across all the keys it completely breaks the keyboard, and every button randomly opens up tasks as if it was being shift+cntlr'd or something, the mouse breaks and the scroll wheel only works as a zoom in zoom out and i cant click on My Computer, or anything, please help! all i did

Is my motherboard dead? we had to open it up to get the new heatsink in, but it shouldnt have broken it as its all plugged back in proper and nothing is different!

Please if anyone can help i will be so grateful!

i7 2600 @ 3.4 stock, MSi 970, 8GB Samsung Green, z68 ud3p motherboard.

are they using on board USB ports or a extension card connecting to a 2.0 header on the motherboard?

Front ports produce same results, using an older keyboard to see if it'll help (the one with the plug i really dont know what is called) if the same results happen i guess its the motherboard saying its final goodbyes

I have had it plugged in for 10 minutes and the results havent repeated, i'm able to use this keyboard, press it the same way and use it and no random popups, maybe the keyboard just died? funny how that happens...

yeah, guess its the keyboard then if the old one is working fine, try the keyboard in a diff pc. see if the issue follows the keyboard

Yea man, after 3 reboots it seems good.
Thing is, no matter what USB slots i moved the old keyboard too, the issue followed shortly after, but no other devices showed faults.

it basically like, it would either die, or it would do that thing where you hold control + shift and press a button to open up like Run, Search, Windows help ETC. So i imagine the keyboard just faulty.

Just want to say this is the second Cyborg product of mine to die in a short time, the mouse died in 9 months and wasnt apparently under their 1 year warranty, and now the keyboard after 2 years, odd how my 9 year old Microsoft keyboard is still shining bright like a diamond.

I will get a new USB based Keyboard for christmas most likely from the missus and if the issue persists then i'll know its a motherboard fault and look into replacing it.

Tah for the help friend!
