Hi Guys

We have a mental deal on this radiator.

I am currently using the AX series in my own system and they are incredible.
Easily the best looking and a great performer.

This radiator was £89.99 and we have a clearance deal of only £38.99 currently.

This is the best radiator you will get for the money without a doubt.

XSPC AX360 Triple Fan Radiator (Silver) @ £38.99 inc VAT

WC-180-XS_400.jpg

The AX is a new premium radiator from XSPC. The AX series combines a high performance copper/brass radiator core with a compact and beautifully finished aluminium enclosure.

The AX's core is a high performance evolution of the popular EX radiator series. The core includes advances from the EX series like welded seam tubes and splitter fins, but with a thicker core (21mm vs 16mm) and increased surface area.

The radiator core is fitted inside of a 3mm thick, extruded and machined aluminium shell. The screw holes are precision cut by CNC which eliminates misaligned screw holes and gives 3mm of screw thread. The aluminium shell also provides a perfectly flat surface to mount the fans against, which eliminates air gaps and any need for a gasket.

All of this comes together to make what we believe is the best PC radiator on the market.

- 3mm Thick Aluminium Frame (No aluminium in the flow path)
- Copper and Brass Core
- Paint Free Core
- Chrome Plated G1/4" Ports
- RoHS Compliant
- Dimensions: 128 x 40 x 406mm (WxDxH) (46mm at ports)
- Weight: ~1082g
- Screws: 6-32 UNC
- Fans: 1 x 120mm (2x with push/pull)

Supplied 30mm and 6mm 6-32 UNC screws

Note: The AX Silver has an unpainted core, which will oxidise over time.

Either way, it seems very cheap for a radiator of it's size!

This is the second wave of these being clearance, first time it went £89 down £53 and then a drop again down to £38 for this lot. I can only presume either Rich or xspc found a box of these in their respective store that weren't noticed the first time round.

I don't know why these are being cleared so cheap either, a modders dream rad, no paint and a removable core, just look at what ace modder did with his :)

It was launched at £89.99

Then we priced the last lot of stock at £53.99

This clearance deal is even cheaper. Mega deal. Bloody silly price

It is indeed.

Were the silver ones just not selling as well as the black and white units then?

You'd want it to oxidise - a shiney finish is very poor at tranfering heat.
Emissivity Coefficient is the measure of radient heat transfer on a scale of 0 to 1 (1 being best)

Polished copper is 0.02
Polished brass is 0.03
Brass Dull Plate is 0.22
oxidised copper is 0.78
Black Enamel Paint is 0.8
oil paint is 0.92 to 0.96

This isn't the whole story as paint also add an insulant around the metal (adding another layer to the heat path)
And this is why rads are sprayed with a very thin (easily chiped) coat of paint

So a painted core is more efficient at removing heat from your loop.
Same with HSF - shiney is bad

That said - even if you add on the price of a spray can of radiator paint (high emissivity, any colour you like) it's still a steal.
or use the boiled egg steam method - google it 'oxidising copper'

These have always been cheaper, yet the same silver 120 and 240 remain the same price as the rest, and tbh not much difference between the EX and the AX anyway, on plus for the AX is you can remove the shroud from the rad and paint it to match your theme, which is cheaper than buying the black or the white version ;)

honestly, they didnt. the black sells the best by miles.

the white sells as well as the silver did.

the silver is the modders choice as you say.

the silver is really light and a coat of spray can make it look truly unique.

as you say, Ace Modders one looks brilliant. I suggested it to him and he was hesitant at first. obviously I was correct and it looks superb. of course.

Yeah. I concur, these are amazing and at this price they are a no brainer. He'll I may go to pickup 2 more on Monday

That looks awesome.

Please send that to antec HQ asap and tell them I want to buy them like that (with full rad support too, sod those HDD bays off
