Turbos dont spool until exhaust gas pressure makes their turbines spin. For a large turbo the turbines will obvoulsy be larger, so a higher exhaust pressure needs to be reached in order for the turbo to work (spool)

Lag is the time that the turbo takes to spool and power and is measured against the rev range of the car

i.e. a diesel turbo spools at around 1950rpm, so there is lag from 800rpm (idle) to 1950rpm (at which point the turbo kicks in)

So for that car the lag would be idle to about 6000 rpm?

Woh that is a monster turbo, that engine defo wont last with a turbo like that strapped to it!

Those sparks definately werent good either, but dam did that thing look like it would fly!

Bet the engine needs rebuilding every 3000 miles

Still bet he suffers from lag and takes ages to 'spool up'
