Hi all

My work colleague wants me to order him some batteries for a watch he's been given, before I replace the battery and take the case backing off, does anyone know what battery fits the watch below please, just so I can get it ordered before he gets the watch to me

Hugo Boss Chronograph Pilot edition 1513850

Thank you

Normally quartz watches have the battery size/model on the rear cover of the case.

I would be surprised if it isn’t a generic watch battery. So pick up one of the assorted sets of batteries for a couple of quad for future issues.

The Hugo is just a rebranded Chinese watch. So should have a standard movement inside.

He's been quoted £65 for new one fitted
Thats insane.

Chatgpt says this:
The Hugo Boss watch model 1513850 uses a standard quartz battery, specifically a SR927SW (also known as a 395/399) battery. This type of battery is commonly used in many quartz watches due to its reliability and availability (PriceRunner UK) (The Watch Corp) . If you need to replace the battery, it is recommended to have it done by a professional to ensure proper sealing and maintenance of the watch’s water resistance.

I wouldnt help anybody who has a Hugo boss watch.

ive tried and tried, but I cant help the fact that fashion brand watches really annoy me.

Yeah just get the cheap battery and swap it out, it's a cheap fashion watch so not really worth taking to a jewelers or even Timpsons unless there is some independent place willing to do it for a tenner or something.

Get the owner to take it to Timpsons. You may need a press to get the back on properly. If Timpsons take the back off and smash the glass in the press, they'll pay for replacement.

If someone else takes the back off and it needs to go to into a press, Timpsons won't pay if the glass shatters.

Found this out recently as I needed to change the battery in the Mrs' watch. Back came off no problem, but I couldn't get the back on again for the life of me. Took it to Timpsons, they explained about the risk, I took a gamble and fortunately it paid off. The guy did it for gratis too.
