Before I even begin, let me stress this is 1) not a medical help request thread and 2) not a discussion on banned substances.
For many years I've been weight training. 2 years ago I had some back problems (two herniated discs). One was so bad that I was diagnosed with equina cauda syndrome, which led to me having a discectomy on a lower disc to release the pressure. I had about 9 months out of the gym as a result and boy was it tough to get back in to it, it was like starting all over again and the diminished strength was soul destroying.
Fast forward to now, I'm back in to my full routine and am seeing my physique and overall strength beginning to improve a little. However I know my body well enough to feel that my back issues remain a problem and know in my heart I will always suffer with sciatica and back pain, as well as the inability to return to my prior levels of strength. I just simply don't feel like I used to. Perhaps it may be age, as I'm now on the wrong side of 34.
So - talking to a regular fellow gym member recently he explained how he had a severe break in his leg which left him out of action. Similar story to mine, even after returning to training just felt that it was an inherent weakness. However he claims that after taking HGH, it has had a major impact on his training and reducing his pain and improving overall strength of his leg.
From what little I've read, the science appears true, however many of the commercial products are taken orally, with people then claiming that it is destroyed by the digestion process and basically is of no use, just a gimmick and that HGH is only effective through IV.
Has anyone in a similar position to me had any experience with HGH? (or can offer any other advice generally)
