Humans (Persona synthetics - android servant)

quite a cool advertising campaign - OP it is for a TV show (if you didn't read all the way down)

on a serious note I hope robotics has improved significantly by the time I come to retire... not necessarily an android servant but some automation of the various things old folks need attending to - the whole crisis in care could be resolved if old people were washed, fed, given medication went to the loo etc.. with the assistance of robots... freeing up human carers to just come in and check up on them

I was sat wondering what this had to do with the Android OS. I'm not a smart man.

But yea, I saw the ad and just had to google for more info, so it definitely works. I'll be giving it a go.

Lol. No, i read down to the ebay listing and view gallery.
US Military have robotic animal buffalo type things that have mounted guns snd can walk / run up and diwn hills and stairs.
Android servants may be a long way (50 years imo) off but we already have sone scary terminator style tech. Watch some of the Ted talks on things like drones

I look forward to this in the future. I'd be surprised to see AI in my lifetime(im 25).

Good (half decent) robotics already exists. Video below from 2008

AI is constantly getting better and better too. I am pretty certain the military already has developed something with good (or at least usable) AI

One of the main reasons why the Japanese are putting so much effort into robotics is indeed with the hope that this will deal with the care related problems associated with an ageing population and low birth rate without having to go down the (Illogical) immigration route.

its not. It's what GMAN said, it's Japan. Sex dolls are primary concern

Featuring Sally Synth - who is billed as 'a teacher, a helper, a friend' - it suggests every household should have a new generation Synthetic Human in their house.

Am I the only thinking we should be able to plug her into a PC and 'upgrade' to do a certain few other things too ;) or is that just wrong :D

Considering the "Singularity" is said to happen in the 2030s, unless your end comes before that date then you're gonna see AI I'd say :p
